The official finishing line for the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers (ARC) is between Pigeon Island and somewhere off the St Lucia waterfront village of Gros Islet. However, the unofficial ARC end is the swimming pool at Rodney Bay Marina’s voluminous eaterie and bar, Scuttlebutts.

"It’s become a sort of tradition," says Scuttlebutts managers (and equally voluminous) Gus and Nassa. "Unless the crew throws the fully clad skipper into our pool well, you’re not considered fully finished, I think it’s a form of stress relief!"

Conch blowing, applause and some time-honored traditions known only to long-distance cruisers and the odd pirate are all part of the "look who’s in next" on-going Scuttlebutts’ celebrations during the ARC.

Scuttlebutts is found on Rodney Bay Marina’s waterfront, has a dinghy dock, and is open from 7 a.m. until late.

Patrons are also entitled to free internet access in the open plan area and the view of their swimming pool from one of their swinging chairs makes skipper dunking an unforgettable spectacle!
