Organisers of the Port Louis Grenada Sailing Festival announced in November that the Bank of Nova Scotia will join the 2009 event as a new Captain’s Club Member sponsor. Festival Chairman, Jimmy Bristol commented, “We are extremely pleased to welcome ScotiaBank. The company has a long history of sponsorship support for sport and community activities in Grenada and will be a strong partner for the Festival and the Digicel Work Boat Regatta.”
Robert Frederick, ScotiaBank Country Manager, added “Scotiabank continues to support events such as this that are important to our customers and by extension the communities which we are privileged to serve.”
The 2009 Festival will be staged from 30 January – 3 February 2009, with presentation partners Port Louis and Camper & Nicholsons, in association with the Grenada Board of Tourism. The event, now in its sixteenth year, has an impressive list of long-standing sponsors, and ScotiaBank will be joining True Blue Bay; British Airways; Colombian Emeralds; Mount Gay Rum; Heineken; North South Wines; United Insurance; and TSL Grenada, responsible for design and management of the official Festival website www.grenadasailingfestival.com
There is more good news for 2009 as North South Wines introduce Beringer, a new Californian wine, for the Festival parties and of course Moët & Chandon will add that extra sparkle to the Prize Presentation evening. This coming year visiting skippers and crews as well as regular Festival party-goers will enjoy a series of after-race parties at the new Camper & Nicholsons Port Louis Marina and Le Phare Bleu, plus the ever-popular Dodgy Dock at True Blue Bay Resort & Marina, with more to be announced.
With the creation of the exciting new Southern Caribbean Regatta Circuit, the Grenada Sailing Festival is part of a wider regional and international promotion with the Carriacou Regatta (14 – 18 January) and the new Tobago Carnival Regatta (10 – 14 February), bringing even more boats and crews to the island to experience Pure Sail, Pure Spice.
The organisers also wish to thank Budget Marine; Boval; Island Dreams Yacht Services; 809 Design and COT Caribbean Graphics for their support for the 2009 Festival. There will be more news of sponsors, racing and party plans coming soon, or contact email@example.com for updates.
