Reel in a whopper kingfish and earn more than bragging rights. The Northside Sportfishing Club’s 26th Bastille Day Kingfish Tournament, set for Sunday July 13th at Hull Bay Hideaway, is your chance to catch that ‘big one’ and pocket $2000 in cash courtesy of NEMWIL. Didn’t catch a colossal king? No problem! There are more than a dozen other ways to win and over $10,000 in cash and prizes.

Register now! Entry forms can be obtained now from Neptune Fishing Supplies. Register at the Captain’s Meeting on July 11th at 7:30 p.m. at Hull Bay Hideaway, or on Saturday July 12th at Hull Bay Hideaway from Noon until 7 p.m. Thanks to the generosity of sponsors, entry fees are low – $45 for adults, $35 for juniors ages 8 to 17. All registered anglers receive an official Bastille Day Kingfish Tournament T-shirt, hat and TOPA canvas bag. Over 200 anglers – adults and juniors of all skill level – as well as over 50 boats are expected to enter. Boat owners take note. Tri Island Energy will provide a fuel truck at Hull Bay Hideaway on Saturday July 12 starting at 2 p.m.

Lines in the water starts at 5:30 a.m. on Sunday July 13th, and ends at Noon, sharp. From Noon until 2 p.m., while the weigh-master and judges go to work, registered anglers can quench their thirst with Coors Light and Captain Morgan Rum punch or Snapple, depending on age.

The Awards Ceremony will take place at 8 p.m. at Hull Bay Hideaway on Sunday July 13. New this year is a Mariner’s Safety Kit valued at $500 donated by Budget Marine.

The drawing will take place during the band break Sunday afternoon. There will also be two bounce houses for the kid’s in the afternoon.

Come for the fishing and stay for the party! Cool Session Brass plays from 1 to 5 p.m., followed by the Get Together Band from 5:30 to 10 p.m. Hull Bay Hideaway will be serving a special lunch of hamburgers, hot dogs and potato and pasta salads for lunch and for dinner: beef brisket, BBQ chicken, garlic shrimp, seasoned rice, pasta macaroni, baked beans and rolls. The Armstrong Real Tasty Ice Cream Truck will also be parked at the beach during the day.
