In answer to those who have requested information about
plans for the 2005 Hurricane season, Grenada Marina Yard Manager Jason Fletcher
has said he expects to store approximately 165 boats at the yard this year. A
preparation and paint shed has also been added, together with a new office.

As for storage
methods, Jason says, "We presently offer a basic chocking system and are
introducing an advanced chocking system this year. The basic system comprises
Brownell type stands and screw jack tops, chained together at the top with each
leg supported by a block of wood which are checked, retentioned and the boat
confirmed level at least once a week. The advanced system puts the vessel in a
steel cradle pinned to the ground with the boat anchored to the ground".

"I would also
like to let people be aware that we are attempting to place as many anchors as
possible throughout the yard. Details and pictures of other developments can be
found on www.grenadamarine.com,” he
added.
