February 26th 2011, National Marine Suppliers announced the grand opening of its new Caribbean flagship store located at 82 Welfare Road, St. Maarten. The new store is strategically located just east of the Bridge on the Dutch side of the island. The grand opening party included live music, food, beverages, free T-shirts and other giveaways. Many were in attendance including megayacht owners, captains and spouses, crew, local business owners and news reporters.
The new Ship Store is the first of its kind down island and is conveniently located to serve customers by land and water. The store is well stocked with all the common needs of megayacht customers. This location also serves as a secure outlet for standard and overnight delivery from National Marines’ Ft. Lauderdale mega facility as well as international shipments. They have a staff of specialists available to help with customer’s unique needs. The second floor of the new Ship Store will also feature Interiors products, clothing, uniforms, shoes, a navigation center, as well as two workstations with internet access and a captain’s lounge.
“As the yachting industry continues to expand, St. Maarten has become a centralized hub for the Caribbean season. We felt it necessary to take on the responsibility of opening a storefront in this location, not only to assist our vessels in a service aspect but to save them both time and money.” said Dean du Toit, of National Marine. “We have an obligation to our customers and that is why we have gone through the effort to provide such a facility. This is something that our customers have been begging us to do for a long time.”
