Music, models, Mount Gay and more… just what sailors at the 2010 BVI Spring Regatta will find at the Regatta Village, March 29 – April 4. The BVI will be party central with the festivities kicking off an Nanny Cay Resort and Marina, moving to Bitter End and then returning to the Regatta Village at Nanny Cay for the big four day big bash, Thursday – Sunday.

As is traditional, following registration on Monday for the BVI Sailing Festival, the low-pressure precursor to the BVI Spring Regatta, there will be an opening party at the newly remodeled Peg Legs’ Splash Bar. Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, when the festivities move to the Bitter End Yacht Club, revelers can rock on at the West Indian Barbeque with the Latitude Stars on Tuesday night and DJ Heavy B spinning his magic on Wednesday night at a full on Pub Mash Up.

While the sailors are whooping it up in North Sound and Bitter End, the beach at Nanny Cay will be transformed into the Regatta Village, which nightly, Thursday – Sunday, April 1 – 4, will play host to many special events with six international food booths serving a wide variety of great fare, Island Oasis Blender cocktails, a massive bar that is open until the wee hours, the regatta apparel boutique and more.

This year’s entertainment in the Regatta Village will truly have something for everyone. MJ Blues will kick off the event on Thursday night after the Mount Gay Welcome Party with his own combination of soul, reggae, calypso, Caribbean soca and the Forty’s big band sound.

Brian Neal leads off on Friday afternoon; a guitarist and songwriter, he embraces the Caribbean spirit with his music. At 8PM, CP4 takes center stage with their hot blend of calypso and rock.

After racing Saturday, models will strut their stuff around the pool showcasing casual and beachwear from the popular HIHO Spring Fashion collection. Later, after the sun sets, the stage will come alive with one of the Caribbean’s favorite sons and Tortola’s own, Quito Rymer. Performing with his band, the Edge, Quito will play Caribbean tunes that are infectious and have a quality that just makes a body happy.

Then Sunday, it’s nearly a full day of fun at the Regatta Village. Although we expect that he won’t be seen, the Easter Bunny is hiding eggs for the young ones. Later in the day, the ‘young at heart’ adults are invited to check out the area for adult goodies that the Easter Bunny may have left behind and then, the crowd pleasing Moka Jumbies will come out to play.

The grand finale of the weekend will be Bounce. With their incredibly popular theme parties, Bounce has been rocking Tortola for several years with their spinning magic. A full evenings entertainment is planned from three highly experienced DJs and two VJs (visual technicians). The "Bounce" system includes a full professional audio rack with power protection /cleaning and two speaker stacks including JBL sub woofers. The lighting includes lasers, linked computer controlled lights and strobes as well as smoke machines and video footage mixed live on a computer and projected on to a screen. Prepare to be amazed.

With six days of on the water action and seven nights of fun, the 2010 BVI Spring Regatta and Sailing Festival, March 29 – April 4, is sure to get the heart pumping, toes tapping and deliver plenty of fun day and night.
