The “Berth Control” competition is a fun, interactive event that gives captains, crew, and marine industry professionals the chance to maneuver a mini megayacht, “Lady Amelia” around a course against the clock and against other competitors.

“Lady Amelia” is a remote control 2.27 meter/ 8 foot mini replica of a megayacht. The yacht handles in a very similar way to a full size vessel of 130′ to 150′ long. The controls are also very similar to those found on the bridge of a large yacht and include rudder, individual throttle controls, and bow thruster.

IYT will host a series of “Berth Control” events with the first event starting on April 20, 2010 at 6 PM. The event will be held at the Embassy Suites pool side located at 1100 SE 17th Street, Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The event will consist of 10-15 teams of 3 competing against each other and against the clock.

The winners of each heat will go on to compete in the finals which will be held during the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in October of 2010.
