Host Committee Prepares Ashore for LaSource Grenada Sailing Festival

There was plenty to celebrate at the LaSource Grenada Sailing Festival Launch Party when Senator the Hon. Mrs. Brenda Hood, Minister of Tourism, officially launched the 2007 Regatta at the Dodgy Dock True Blue Bay Resort and Villas where the event will be hosted in 2007.

Firstly the Dodgy Dock has been completely rebuilt and now deserves a rather more upscale name; the whole area has been increased enormously but still maintains areas of intimacy and quiet along with the capability of holding large parties where one can drink, eat and dance all at the same time!

Secondly, now in its 14th year, the LaSource Grenada Sailing Festival has a real feel of permanency, with Jimmy Bristol one of the founders of the Festival elected as the new Chairman of the Board, assuring all that has been learnt from the past will be amalgamated into the 2007 event.

Thirdly, Cable & Wireless are on board as the Work Boat sponsors and took the opportunity to present their sponsorship cheque of $70,000EC to the Festival Administrator.  Generosity of this scale, combined with the magnificent contributions of the other sponsors will ensure that the Cable & Wireless Work Boat Regatta will be a resounding success.

Family Fun filled events will run all weekend on the beach, ensuring that whether young or old, local or visiting this is one weekend where the only place to be will be Grand Anse.  And finally, but by no means last, and with no disrespect to all the other valued sponsors the Festival Award Dinner will be awash with champagne again as Moet & Chandon are once again sponsoring the keel boat event.
