Rayne Duff claimed the Red Fleet victory and third overall at the Sunshine State Championships in March.

Duff was one of three Team BVI sailors who traveled to Miami to compete. Sailing with him was Nathan Haycraft in the Blue Fleet, and Ryan Lettsome in White Fleet.

An armada of 195 boats descended on the Key Biscayne Yacht Club, where competition was fierce. Entries, whilst dominated by the USA, also included sailors from the BVI, USVI, St Lucia and Canada.

In the White Fleet, Ryan Lettsome sailed a solid regatta to finish in ninth place, an excellent achievement at his first major regatta out of the region.

Nathan Haycraft had a challenging weekend with three starting penalties that cost him dearly in the overall results.

For Duff, competing in the Red Fleet (sailors aged 13 to 15), it went down to the wire and it took a bullet in the final race to secure his fleet win and third place overall.
