On the first of June the fourth “Ashore, At Sea and In the Air” took place at the Sea Aquarium Beach in front the Lion’s Dive Hotel in Curaçao.
“Te land, Ter Zee en In de Lucht” is a well known and very popular game in Holland, implying creativity, courage, cleverness, speed and luck.

The purpose of the game is to be the fastest going down a slippery slope in a self-made boat/vehicle and ring a bell in the water. In the tropical Caribbean setting, this event is gaining popularity among tourists and locals every year, equaling, or even surpassing the success of many decades in Holland.

Among the locals, Edwin, Michel, Tijn and Tom of the famous “Tuesday Evening Sailing Team”, participated in a special variation on a sailing boat. They didn’t win but had a lot of fun. The winner, Madelon Boot, beat all other 62 participants by reaching the bell within four seconds; a new record.

The great family event traditionally was concluded by a phenomenal fireworks display.  The organizers are looking forward to the fifth anniversary edition on the first Sunday in June 2009.
