This summer the 21st edition of Aruba Hi-Winds will take place from Wednesday June 27 till Monday July 2. Since its foundation in 1986, Aruba Hi-Winds has remained one of the biggest names in windsurfing events in the Caribbean, including freestyle windsurfing and kite boarding. During early years, windsurfing greats like Robby Naish and Bjorn Dunkerbeck raced in Aruba year after year.
The windsurfing competition takes place at the famous Fisherman’s Hut, the best windsurf spot of Aruba, located on the North West coast in the prestigious area of Malmok. The spectacular kite boarding contest mainly takes place at Boca Grandi, a popular kite board area on the south coast of the island.
Besides being a first-rate windsurfing and kite boarding event, the Aruba Hi-Winds is renowned for having an extensive and exhilarating entertainment and social program for its competitors and friends.
That means racing during the day and enjoying an incredible entertainment program with delicious dinners and enjoyable parties at night! It is the aim of the organizing committee to make the Aruba Hi-Winds within reach of as many sailors as possible from all economic backgrounds and from the various corners of the earth. Therefore, there are very attractive deals on accommodations and registration fees.
For traditional down-wind slalom racers, fearless freestylers or daring kite boarders, Aruba Hi-Winds has a lot to offer with competitions for men, women, juniors, masters and freestyle. For information: www.aruba-hiwinds.org.
