Commodores Compete for Top Prizes at Lowell Wheatley Anegada Regatta
West End Yacht Club Commodore, Dave Cooper, sniffed at RBVIYC Commodore Chris Haycraft’s Pipedream’s transom the entire 26-mile leg from Road Harbour to the Anegada Reef Hotel for the finish in this annual BVI Yacht Club summer regatta. Starting 12 minutes behind in the pursuit race, Shamrock V finished in 2nd place only 4 minutes behind the winning Pipe Dream giving Haycraft and Cooper first and second respectively. Kevin Wrigley won third on a Bavaria 49 charter boat. The race was well attended with captains and crews partying well into the night before the return trip back to Tortola on Sunday, July 16th.
