The Hemingway International Yacht Club of Cuba (HIYC) has announced dates for the 22nd International Blue Marlin Fishing Tournament. HIYC Commodore and Cuban International Game Fish Association representative, Mr. Jose Miguel Diaz Escrich sees the event as another opportunity to strengthen links between the HIYC and the international nautical community.
The tournament registration fee is $350 US per team for up to three anglers and $100 US for another angler. The fee includes free mooring if you come on your own boat, plus personal invitations to the Welcoming Cocktail, Closing Dinner and Awards Ceremony. Registration is at Marina Hemingway.
Schedule – Registration from 9am to 5pm on Monday 20th. Skippers’ briefing 6pm. Welcome Cocktail Party 7pm. Competition to run Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Dinner and awards ceremony on Saturday 25th.
Boat Rental – Boats can be hired from $300 to $600 US per day. This includes crew, bait, fishing tackle, slip and fuel. Those arriving on their own boat will be issued a visa upon arrival at Marina Hemingway.
Accommodation is available at Marina Hemingway, where there are 600 rooms. Prices range from $20 to $40 US, including breakfast.
